Named by The Toronto Star as 'one of the best new groups emerging from Seattle', The Kindness Kind played spacious electronic-infused indie-rock.
In 2007, The Kindness Kind recorded their debut album, A Novel, at Bear Creek Studio with Lucas Carlyle (credits include: The Gossip, The Octopus Project, The Album Leaf). A Novel went on to chart CMJ and was featured in numerous reviews including the Toronto Star's Anti-hit List column.
For their self-titled follow up (November 2008), The Kindness Kind took their latest batch of songs to various studios and spaces in Washington State, with producer Lucas Carlyle at the board once again. The result is powerful: a vibrant mix of indie-pop-rock songs that move from the delicate to the brash, with thunderous walls of sound juxtaposed by beautiful floating textures and rich melodies interwoven throughout.
The Kindness Kind was featured on SPIN.com and KEXP, as a CMJ Spotlight artist, and has shared the stage with Jon Auer of The Posies, David Terry of Aqueduct, The Rosebuds, and Efterklang. They have performed at Seattle’s Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival, the CMJ Music Marathon, and were backed by the Seattle Rock Orchestra at the Moore Theatre in Seattle, WA.
The Kindness Kind has since split up into multiple other projects. Their music can still be found forever and always on iTunes HERE.
