Lout #1 & #2
We’re excited to announce that Powers That Be, the moniker of London-based songwriter Tom Beecham, is set to release the 1st in a series of EP’s on February 12, 2013. Combining a multitude of sounds ranging from shoegaze, surf, dream-pop, brit-pop and 60s psych, Powers That Be is sure to draw the listener in within the first few beats of the first single ‘Valencia’. Gusto is the word that comes to mind.
A songwriter known in Seattle and beyond as leader of the critically acclaimed Raggedy Anns, as well as for singing in front of the Seattle Rock Orchestra, Beecham’s new work is even more ground-breaking and we are incredibly excited to have his new project as part of the DBAL family!
For more info about Powers That Be, go to the artist page or official site.

As you might have already known, our boy Charles Larson met up last month with KRTS in his Brooklyn studio to see if a collaboration could happen. What came of it ?
They ended up writing a song together – “Breathe With Me” – and it just happened to make the final cut for KRTS’ upcoming 2LP on Project Mooncircle. A few more surprises on the record are the talents of Stevee Wellons (KRTS mother) and Jon Hairston (KRTS brother) – nothing beats an album featuring family members. Not to mention KRTS’ unbelievable talent in writing songs, beats and lacing them with beautiful melodies.
Pre-order your copies of “The Dread Of An Unknown Evil”
If you’d care to treat your ears to a snippet of what the 2LP sounds like, you won’t regret it.
Stay tuned – there’s more to come.
Hello again my lovely Louts,
Our very own Charles Larson teamed up with the wonderfully talented KRTS recently in KRTS’ Brooklyn loft. Charles ended up singing on a song that’s gonna make KRTS’ upcoming LP on Project Mooncircle. Let me tell you, I heard the first mix; it’s sexy!
Keep your eyes and ears nearby my loves – I will let you know when this one drops.
More soon my lovely Louts,
Sophia the Lout.
Dear fellow Louts,
Today is the day to pick up your own copy of Charles Larson’s ‘Shift.’ You can do so at iTunes or at eMusic.
Charles and his backing band The Bogarts will be celebrating the release of ‘Shift’ October 2nd @ The Living Room (154 Ludlow St NYC) @ 7pm. If you’re going to be in or around NYC you should definitely stop in and celebrate with Charles and The Bogarts.
Later my loves,
Sophia the Lout.
– the 2nd release from Charles Larson is set to release September 25th. The 8 song EP also features Irene Barber (Eighteen Individual Eyes) singing some beautiful harmonies as well as Daniel Rapport (Gems) playing some nasty guitar. We will have some songs to sample up soon.
We’ll keep you posted on the upcoming Shift EP release show in NYC!
More info TBA.
Stay tuned Louts!
